Who Says Button-Downs are for Boys?

Hello ladies!!

I hope everyone’s had a fabulous week before Christmas- and of course staying bundled up in this sudden temperature drop! Maybe this year we can all wish for a little Christmas morning snow..? 😉

It’s been a busy week of school + work, but of course I had to bring y’all an outfit post. The inspiration behind this one is actually pretty funny! For those of you who don’t already know, I work retail seasonally- every time I come home from college, I work a part-time job. It’s fun, easy, and obviously I make some money (hey, I gotta fulfill my need to shop somehow.) My job is pretty chill, but we have a somewhat strict dress code. The guys basically all wear button down shirts & chinos or nice pants, and girls wear dresses or cute tops + boots, wedges, booties, etc… basically just some kind of heel usually! I got to thinking the other day- and I totally was inspired to pull out my favorite button down shirts from back in the day. Unfortunately, they all seemed to have shrunk… but that could just be because I haven’t worn them since my early high school days. Y’all can ask my mom- I used to love button-down shirts!! I felt so preppy & I thought they were so cute to wear with my True Religion jeans and Sperry’s… oh, high school. So glad those days are over- who’s with me?

Anyway, before work the other day I decided to run by and check out what sales were going on, and I found a ton of super cute stuff! This shirt is actually a men’s shirt in a small that I decided to dress up a little. This outfit is super cute to wear out running errands, or out to lunch with a friend. It’s always fun to dress like a boy from time to time, right? Granted, I did wear heels & skinny jeans with this look- but I think it’s awesome getting some style inspiration from others and incorporating it into your own style!

Is it just me or does it seem like nobody wears button-down shirts anymore except for guys? Let’s bring back button-downs please!! #TeamButtonDown

P.S. HOW CUTE ARE THESE HEELS?! I found them at Express, and they’re half off right now!

I can NOT believe how cold it is outside right now! I feel like just yesterday it was 70 degrees out and I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts, and now I’m all bundled up in 80 layers and 50 blankets.

I’ve been on the hunt for a big cozy sweater, and last night I found a TON at Target, and get this- they’re all 40% off! Most of the ones I found were all under $20, which is perfect if you’re looking to stock up on some comfy sweaters to stay cozy this winter. I personally hate being cold- I would much rather be hot than cold any day- so you’ll definitely find me bundled up in my thickest sweaters for the next month.

I’ve also been loving tassels lately- tassel earrings are my fave, and I decided to work them into my wardrobe with some other tasseled pieces as well- the crossbody bag & my boots!

This outfit is seriously so comfortable & cozy. I ran around town today for hours running errands and I was as comfortable as can be. 🙂

I hope all of you are staying warm!! I can’t believe Christmas is already only a few days away- how are y’all doing on Christmas shopping? Let me know, thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Friday!! Thought I’d throw a little fun print into the mix of 99% winter-toned outfits! I’ve had these heels for the longest time and never really knew how to style them. I believe I bought them two spring seasons ago, and they’ve only gotten to come out to play maybe once.

I love playing with elements from other seasons into the current one- it keeps things fun & fresh. I kept the whole outfit besides the shoes more neutral, so the shoes grab all of the focus. I’m definitely going to be repeating this outfit throughout the spring, too- don’t judge me!

I’ve linked a ton of other options in case any of you want to shop a similar look! All linked below.

Hello friends!!

I’m happy to report that I’ve been really loving my time back home. 🙂 Seriously feels so good to take a break from the craziness of school (and jump into the craziness of my family back home!)

The day I’m writing this post (y’all will see it in a few days!) it’s oddly warm- we’ve been having 40 degree days the past few weeks but randomly it spiked up to 70 today. But hey, I’m definitely not complaining! My mom helped take these photos for me, & I think they actually turned out super well- thanks Momma! 🙂

img_0536We spent a few minutes just enjoying the weather & playing with the leaves. I never really got the chance to take cute fall pictures but I finally got my chance today!

I hope all of you are heading home to spend time with your families soon if not already. Even though I have to take a winter class and work a little bit over my month-long break, I definitely feel super blessed to spend some quality time back home. Trust me, it’s much needed! I’m hoping to spend some of my Christmas break to explore some parts of Dallas that I haven’t been to, and to really dedicate some time to perfect this blog. I find myself in a rut every once in a while, and I’m definitely in one now. Hopefully I’ll be able to perfect all the little things to my heart’s content. For those of you who are bloggers- after you find a theme or a style that you like, do you recommend just keeping it the same or do y’all tweak it little by little like me? Sometimes I can’t decide whether it’s just because I get bored of things easily that I always like to switch it up or if it’s because I didn’t have it right in the first place… Anyway let me know, I’m in dire need of some advice!

Have a good hump day, friends!! Of course I had to include these pictures of my dog & I after the shoot. He is so undeniably adorable, I can’t even handle it!
