What I’m Packing for Vacation

I’m so excited to be heading somewhere tropical in a couple of days with my family! It’s been forever since our last family vacation, and I can’t wait to spend an entire week on the beach with my favorite people on the planet. I’m currently rushing to pack everything I need, and I figured – since I’ve already procrastinated, why not procrastinate some more?

My Favorite Dallas Taco Joints

I’m definitely not a food blogger by any means, but I LOVE trying new foods and discovering new places to eat! After living in Dallas for 21 years, I’ve gathered a short list of taco joints I love in the area. Since I always get requests for favorite spots in Dallas, I thought it’d be fun to write a series all about my favorite spots in the DFW area. I figured we could start with tacos, because who doesn’t love tacos?

Vacation Packing Tips

I love to travel, but I hate to pack. What’s even worse than packing is unpacking. Although unfortunate, packing is a necessary task when it comes to traveling, and it’s pretty inevitable. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try and make it fun, right? Since I’m heading on a family beach vacation soon, I thought it’d be fun to share with y’all some of the tips I’ve learned over the past couple years. I’m definitely no expert, but here are some of the tips I’ve found to be helpful, especially with my heavy over-packer tendencies.

What’s Actually Worth Purchasing in the #NSale

It’s that time of year again, friends! The oh-so-famous Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Every year, thousands of bloggers swarm Nordstrom and purchase every item included in the sale, and tell you that you need all 10 of the cardigans on sale. Am I right or am I right? I’ve definitely been guilty of it in the past too, so my hands aren’t clean either.

Long Beach Getaway

Tis the season for weekend getaways! Summertime is one of my favorite times of the year (second only to Christmas time) and now that I’m settled into a new city, one of my favorite things to do is take weekend trips. Of course I wish I could leave for a little bit longer than just a day and a half, but I’ve actually really come to enjoy quick trips as a way to explore a new place I’ve never been. A few weekends ago, The Cove Hotel in Long Beach invited Akash and I to stop by the hotel for a visit, and the timing couldn’t have been better.

Summer Reading List

For the past little while, I’ve been spending 30 minutes to an hour every night to myself, just reading in a corner of the apartment. It’s been so much fun, and I figured I would share some of my favorites with y’all in case you want to join along!

Her Conference 2019 Recap with Mary Kay

This past weekend, I had the absolute honor of attending the first ever Her Conference in LA! As a few of my OG readers might remember, I actually attended my first Her Conference back in the summer of 2017 (you can check out the recap I did here!) It was such a blast, and I made some amazing connections there. I was so excited when Her Campus announced that they were doing their first one in LA, and I’m so glad I got to attend and work with Mary Kay.

Life Update: I Moved!

Reporting to y’all from my new OFFICE! I can’t even believe it, you guys. As you can tell from the title of this post (or if you’ve seen on social)… I moved! A little over a year ago, I made the move across the country to the sunny state of California. I made a home for myself in Los Angeles, and it’s been one of the craziest years of my life in the best way. A year later, I’ve moved into a new apartment just down the road from my last one.

Seattle Travel Diary

Last week, my dad and I took a trip to Seattle together! It was the first time we got to take a daddy daughter trip, and we had such a fun time. Honestly I went into the weekend without many plans and not having done a lot of homework beforehand, which if you know me at all you know is so not me. I usually like to have all my ducks in line when traveling, and love to have a ton of spots that I want to hit during the trip. It was a particularly busy day at work, so honestly I just didn’t get too much time to planning. Even though we didn’t plan too much beforehand, we had so much fun exploring everything Seattle had to offer, and having spontaneous adventures.

Tips for Improving Your Instagram Feed

Ah, the never-ending chase of getting that “content.” To be totally honest, I cringe a little nowadays when I hear that word! I feel like in the large scheme of things sometimes it can feel a little silly to be worrying about a ‘cohesive feed’ and I’ve shared so many times before that I’m a big believer in posting what makes you feel good, and that authenticity is key in this Instagram world we all live in. But the truth is, sometimes you just want a pretty feed! And there’s nothing wrong with that! I’ve had a ton of questions lately on Instagram tips + tricks for curating feeds, so I figured I’d wrap up all my ideas into this post as a big resource for anyone looking to improve their Instagram page.
