As most of y’all know, last weekend Akash & I had a staycation in Downtown Dallas and we had so much fun eating our hearts out & exploring around the city. Needless to say we left the trip with happy bellies & happy hearts. 🙂 I’ve gotten quite a few requests to share everything that we did in Downtown for any of you who happen to be visiting anytime soon, or even if you’re from the area but need suggestions of things to do on your day off! So without further ado, here’s our little itinerary from a three day weekend in Dallas!
Happy Wednesday, friends! 🙂 It’s hump day, YAY! I’m spending the day bouncing from class to class to meeting to class unfortunately. I feel like I have so many Valentine’s Day posts planned for the next two weeks, so bare with me! I guess you can say I just love Valentine’s Day and everything about it. 🙂
On another note, happy February! February always seems to go by with a snap, so I’m really trying to take advantage of the time I do have and be as productive as I can. I have so much to do- spring break is only a couple weeks away, and I barely have anything planned for our trip so far. Akash & I are also hoping to plan a trip for this summer that needs to be booked very soon, so we’re kind of rushing to get that done too. TLDR: it’s been a crazy month and February’s about to get crazier!
I hope all of you are having a fantastic week so far, I love you all! See you on Friday my chickadees!
TGIF, ladies!! We made it through the week- YAY! As most of you can probably tell, I love cold shoulder tops! They’re so flattering on every frame, and add a little extra oomph to a plain outfit. It’s been a little warmer down here in College Station, so I couldn’t help but to start breaking out my spring stuff- don’t judge me!
This cold shoulder dress is so lightweight and surprisingly comfortable. It’s perfect for a date night (maybe for this upcoming Valentine’s!) or even just for a Sunday spent at church & having brunch with your girlfriends. I paired it with some nude strap heels, but you could totally pull it off with some wedges to make it a little more casual.
I wear navy probably way more than I should, but I personally think it’s the color that looks best on me! Navy’s also a super flattering color for every skin tone too. I love it because it’s subtle enough to not be in your face, but not as dark as a jet black. Everyone needs a little color from time to time. 🙂
I hope all of you had a good start to the new year, here’s to the rest of 2017 being remarkable! Have a great weekend, friends!! xoxo
Valentine’s Day is just 3 weeks away!! Valentine’s Day has always been one of my very favorite holidays- even before I had a boyfriend! There’s just something about teddy bears, roses, and chocolates that makes me blush. 🙂
I’m not sure what Akash & I have planned for this upcoming Valentine’s Day- probably just a dinner date (and hopefully some pretty roses!) Last year we had this amazing romantic dinner at Christopher’s World Grille in College Station. The food was so good & the dessert- don’t even get me started on the dessert!
This outfit is inspired by Valentine’s Day- it’s a super cute outfit idea for a date with your boyfriend or hubby! I’m usually not a fan of paisley, but I really like how it’s worked in with the floral print of the dress. I found this dress at Altar’d State for 60% off- they’re having their Semi Annual sale right now, and all sale items are an additional 60% off!
I tried to keep it simple, with just a quilted bag and some pretty grey strappy heels. I actually snagged these heels from Aldo on a super crazy sale about a year ago, and I finally got to break them out. I’m not going to lie, they’re surprisingly kind of hard to walk in… and I had to poke an extra hole so that the button could fit on the strap. But for only $18? I’ll take it!
I know it’s still a bit early, but I want to know what all of you have planned for the upcoming holiday. I have a couple more Valentine’s Day-themed posts coming up, so keep your eyes peeled for those!

Mornings spent at the cutest bakery in Dallas are morning well spent in my book! 😉 Akash & I spent the day shooting pictures for the blog (which, by the way, I’m SO EXCITED FOR!! stay tuned) & we found this little bakery nested in between Royal Blue Grocery & Alice + Olivia. Highland Park Village is one of my favorite places to shop- everyone’s so nice & it’s always so quaint. Go on a weekday and it’s so calm & peaceful!
Anyway, back to the bakery- we stopped in for some coffee & breakfast, and everyone there was so nice. To be completely honest, I didn’t totally love the food, but the coffee & decor totally made up for it. Akash had the pecan pie, though, and loved it. The place is decorated so cute, too- so Pinterest!!
Texas has actually been on a crazy rollercoaster as far as weather- a week ago it was snowing at 10 degrees, and today it was a high of 80. I wore this super cozy sweater & paired it with some ripped boyfriend jeans, Jack Rogers, and this pretty mint purse. I recently got these sunglasses & I’m been wearing them like crazy.
I hope everyone’s been having an awesome week so far!! I’m so sorry for not having a blog post up this past Monday- this is the first time I’ve ever skipped a day 🙁 Sometimes life catches up to you, and things happen- but I have a lot of awesome content coming up soon. Get excited!!!
