Birthday Weekend Recap

Birthday Weekend Recap

So I heard that nobody likes you when you’re 23, but hopefully y’all still stick around? 😉 As of a couple days ago, I’m officially 23! This past weekend I celebrated my birthday with my besties, and it was most definitely a weekend for the books. I thought it’d be fun to write a post on everything we need, because it would make for a great travel guide for LA too! Since y’all are always asking for recommendations, I thought it’d be a fun post to write. Here’s everything we did to celebrate my 23rd!

We kicked off the day in one of my favorite places in LA – Malibu Farm! Every time friends ask me for recommendations in LA, Malibu is one of the first places I recommend. Stunning views, amazing food, relaxing vibe – what more do you need? The water this past weekend was particularly gorgeous, so we spent a couple hours just hanging out on the pier. So pretty!

Lunch at Malibu Farm: Breaded Chicken Sandwich on the left, Bacon Corn Panini on the right. And of course a frose + watermelon cocktail

The interiors are gorgeous too!

For dinner, we went to Taste on Melrose. Such a delicious meal – highly recommend for dinner, and their brunch menu is amazing too.

On Saturday, Melody & Akash surprised me with a trip to Disneyland to celebrate my birthday! It was so so much fun – we didn’t take a ton of photos, but we had the absolute best time.

Of course we had to stop for ice cream a couple times! We went to the McConnell’s in Palisades Village. This place is probably one of my absolute favorite ice cream places – it is so creamy, and everything tastes so fresh. They’re based in Santa Barbara, too. The chocolate covered strawberries flavor is my #1.

Bumsan is one of my favorite local shops – it’s milk based ice cream. So good! I usually get the true milk flavor with fruity pebbles on top. Akash & I both love the matcha too!

Unfortunately didn’t get a photo here except for this food shot, but we did a birthday brunch at The Henry, another one of my favorites in West Hollywood. They just opened up one location in Dallas, so if you’re curious to try it out I’ve heard that location is super similar. We’ve done dinner here several times as well as brunch, and they never disappoint. Surprisingly fair prices, and everything is so delicious.

Last but not least, we also stopped by Getty Villa! I wanted to show my friend Melody around here, since there’s such a gorgeous view. If you plan on stopping by, just make sure you reserve your tickets online! They’re free, but you do have to reserve tickets.
