It’s that time again- back to school!! Unpopular opinion: I’ve loved back to school season for as long as I can remember. There’s just something so exciting about going back to school and seeing all your friends after a long summer away! What is there not to love about new beginnings? Unfortunately my days of back to school season are over, but I’m staying in the BTS spirit by sharing a school bag necessity (plus an amazing deal when you’re shopping) with y’all!
Back to school also reminds me of some of the years that I struggled with confidence. For the most part of high school, I’d say I was a pretty confident teenager. However, there were definitely times that I struggled with self confidence, especially in the back to school season! A lot of it had to do with body struggles, and insecurities when it came to looks.
For a while, I wasn’t able to go to school without makeup on. When I first started wearing makeup sophomore year of high school, I only ever felt pretty with makeup on. Any day I didn’t wear makeup I felt so ugly and always thought people were staring at me on my ‘ugly days.’ Little did I know that everyone’s too darn busy worrying about themselves that I wasn’t even on their minds… haha! Even now, sometimes I catch myself being worried about looking ‘ugly’ on days I don’t wear makeup. It’s definitely a process, but I’ve found it to be so important to be confident with or without makeup. Makeup should be an accessory, not a necessity!
With that said, I think a huge part of feeling confident in your looks is making sure you have good skin! With or without makeup, your skin should absolutely be the #1 most important part of your routine. When my skin is looking great, I can feel so confident going out without a single drop of makeup.
