My Favorite Dallas Taco Joints

My Favorite Dallas Taco Joints

I’m definitely not a food blogger by any means, but I LOVE trying new foods and discovering new places to eat! After living in Dallas for 21 years, I’ve gathered a short list of taco joints I love in the area. Since I always get requests for favorite spots in Dallas, I thought it’d be fun to write a series all about my favorite spots in the DFW area. I figured we could start with tacos, because who doesn’t love tacos? If you stop by any of these, please let me know what you thought!

Without further ado, here are some of my favorite Dallas taco spots, in order, along with some menu recommendations:

Velvet Taco

A true Dallas staple. Ask any Dallas native, and they’ll probably tell you that Velvet Taco is the place to go. I’ve been visiting the Greenville location since high school, and it used to be one of my favorite places to go for food when I was in the city. My personal favorite is the Picnic Chicken (soooo good, my mouth is watering as I type this) and Akash loves the Chicken Tikka. Their tater tots are also amaze balls – a must try!

For my Plano peeps – the location at Legacy West has officially opened! Unfortunately it’s a limited menu, but we’ll take what we can get.

Torchy’s Tacos

Torchy’s is a close second to Velvet. Every time I go back home, I almost always request a stop at Torchy’s. The Trailer Park is my #1 fave, I get it with no cheese. Always ask for the Poblano sauce – I could honestly drink that stuff, it’s so delicious.

Dillas

Not technically a taco joint, but it’s Mexican inspired so I’m letting it slide. My brother actually introduced me to this place about 4 years ago, and I’ve been visiting ever since. They make the best quesadillas, and their fries with Jalapeno Ranch are amazing! They opened up a location in Frisco a couple years ago, so I go all the time now that it’s basically in my backyard.

Revolver Taco Lounge

A good option if you’re in Dallas! The carne asada tacos are delicious, and I’ve heard they’ve got great margaritas.

Bartaco

Every time I go shopping at Highland Park Village, we always have to stop here! Such a great spot for Tex Mex style tacos.

Taco Crush

Akash’s friend actually got him hooked on this place, and he brought me along. It’s actually in Mckinney, but it’s worth the drive. He always gets the chicken tikka tacos, but I’ve gotten their chicken and shrimp, and they’re all great.

Torchy’s Tacos is one of my absolute favorites. They just brought a bunch of locations to Denver and I’m obsessed. Tacos sound good just about anytime!
