Weekend Getaway Essentials

Thank you to Vera Bradley for partnering with me on this post!

Summer is my favorite time of year! Can y’all guess why? (And no, it’s not because it’s my name.) My favorite thing about summer is that you have so many excuses to go on little weekend trips! So far this summer, I’ve gotten to visit Tulum, Dallas, and Scottsdale- I’m also in the works to plan a few more at the moment. Today I’m sharing with y’all a few of my favorite travel pieces that I’ve been taking with me everywhere! No matter if you travel by plane, bus, or car- these Vera Bradley goodies will have ya covered.

My first fave is this weekender bag– I’ve been using it nonstop. As most of you know, my boyfriend and I are currently doing long-distance until he graduates. This basically means a whole lot of quick weekend trips back to Dallas! This bag is the absolute perfect size for our little adventures, because it’s just big enough to fit everything I need, but also small enough to be a carry on so I don’t have to pay for extra baggage fees! Plus, when I arrive at my destinations, I’m able to just walk out of the airport without having to wait for my luggage. Love it!

It’s also a perfect overnight bag if you’re sleeping over at a friend’s house! The pockets make it super easy to pack and unpack, since there’s a spot for literally everything.

Summertime also means graduation season! If you’re looking for a gift for graduation, any of these items would also be perfect. The best part is that it’s a gift they’d actually use…. I’ve always had my eye on a Vera Bradley backpack, and now I finally have my own! I bring this guy with me to work every day. Unlike a lot of backpacks, it actually fits my 15 inch MacBook- this is a major score in my book. I can also fit my notebooks and computer accessories in the main pocket. Now that I’m working, I don’t have as many writing tools as I used to, but the pockets in the front have little slits that make it perfect to fit my pens, keys, and headphones. Again, this backpack has a spot for literally EVERYTHING! When everything has a home, it makes it so much easier to keep track of, and to keep all your things organized.

Both the backpack and my weekender bag have super simple, quilted fabric that’s protective but still soft. PS: Pro tip that I’ve been using since my middle school days- if your bag’s starting to get dirty, take everything out, and you can throw it in the washing machine. Your bag will be squeaky clean and good as new!

Last but not least, this luggage set! Y’all, how cute is the design on this set?! My #1 favorite thing about it is that the design is so unique, every time I have to check it in at the airport, I can easily spot my luggage at baggage claim without having to worry that it looks similar to someone else’s.

I actually grew up only using fabric/soft-sided luggage, but I’ve come to love hard-sided luggage so much more. You never have to worry about the fabric ripping, and if anything ever gets stained (we all know how gross airports can be) you can easily scrub it off.

Hope y’all enjoyed these little travel tips + hearing about my fave Vera Bradley pieces for the season! Swing by here to check them out & pick your favorites.
