March Reading List

March Reading List

Eek, I know this is a little late! Better late than never though, right? I also figured this makes a little more sense, to share book recommendations after I’ve read them and can give a thumbs up that they’re good!

In case you’re new around here, I love to share the books I’m reading for the month. I usually read a lot of fiction, but here and there I like to throw in some business, self-help, and autobiographies too.

If you’re finding yourself bored at home during this crazy time, these books are a great way to keep yourself entertained and busy! Plus, for some reason I feel like reading is a good way to keep your brain ‘exercising!’

Here are my favorite books that I’ve read over the last few weeks. (PS: I get a ton of book recommendations from various book club accounts I follow. If y’all are interested in those, just let me know and I can share some of my favorite accounts to follow!)

Little Fires Everywhere

I’ve had this book on my shelf for forever, and finally got around to reading it this month. It certainly did not disappoint. From the first page, I was hooked! Akash & I also just started the Hulu series last week, and we’ve been loving it. I always love watching a book come to life, after having read the book. So cool seeing how the characters come to life, after having been just in my imagination!

The Birthday Girl

So to be totally honest I didn’t love this one, but for what it’s worth it was a fun & easy read. I read it after I read Little Fires, so it could be that I had really high expectations. Overall, it was an interesting story and super quick to get into.

The Jetsetters

Another Reese’s Book Club pick! They always have the best suggestions. One of my favorite genre of books is what I consider ‘beach reads,’ and this is the perfect example. On our first week of quarantine we took a day trip to the beach to get some sunshine (while practicing very safe social distancing) and I sat on the sand reading this book for 3 hours. Had a grand ole time, and it was a fun story.

The Stationery Shop

So I’m not going to lie, I totally judged this book by the cover. The cover of this book is so beautiful, I couldn’t help but bring it home with me from the bookstore. Thankfully, it exceeded my expectations! From the get-go, the book was amazing. It’s a really beautiful love story and shares about the perspective of a young girl who grows up in Iran in the late 1950s, and then flashes forward to her life in her 70s. Such a great story, and so captivating. 10/10 recommend!
