Last week, my dad and I took a trip to Seattle together! It was the first time we got to take a daddy daughter trip, and we had such a fun time. Honestly I went into the weekend without many plans and not having done a lot of homework beforehand, which if you know me at all you know is so not me. I usually like to have all my ducks in line when traveling, and love to have a ton of spots that I want to hit during the trip. It was a particularly busy day at work, so honestly I just didn’t get too much time to planning. Even though we didn’t plan too much beforehand, we had so much fun exploring everything Seattle had to offer, and having spontaneous adventures.
Instead of splitting it up like I normally do, with what to eat, what to do, where to Insta, etc., this time I thought it’d be better to just recap the weekend, since truthfully I don’t have too many recommendations other than the few we stopped by. If y’all stop by any of these please let me know!
First things first: where we stayed! The Kimpton Vintage Seattle team was so kind to host us for the weekend, and it truly was an amazing experience. We’ve stayed at a few Kimpton hotels over the years, and they never disappoint! The staff is always so kind, and the rooms always are welcoming and clean. They were so sweet and even left us a little welcome gift! The location was perfect, too – we were able to walk all over downtown, and only drove when we were heading out of the city, or going out to shoot photos.
My favorite part of the hotel is that they do daily wine and coffee hours! Every evening, my dad and I would stop by for a glass of wine and to unwind after wandering around the city all day. I also love that every Kimpton I’ve stayed at so far has bikes that are free to borrow! Biking is such a fun way to experience a city, and I love that they offer that to guests. Unfortunately this time around we didn’t get to do it since it was pretty rainy, but when Akash & I stayed at the Kimpton Vintage Portland we biked and it was so much fun!
One last thing about the Kimpton hotels – I love that they offer a voucher every day that you pass on housekeeping. I love when businesses do their part to conserve energy and water!
Chihuly Glass Sculptures
One of our first attractions that we visited was the Chihuly Glass Scultures Museum! Overall it was interesting to see all of the different sculptures, but to be totally honest I don’t think it was worth the cost. You can see these types of sculptures at other places without paying for admission, so I’m not sure if I’d pay to do it again. The only way I’d recommend visiting is if you’re purchasing the Seattle City Pass, since the museum’s already included.
The museum was pretty crowded when we went (granted, it was a Saturday afternoon) and unless you love museums, I’d say you can pass on this one!
We didn’t actually go up to the Space Needle, but we did stop by to see it from the ground level since it’s such a significant Seattle landmark!
Y’all. This meal we had at Tulio was incredible! Tulio is located inside the Kimpton Vintage Seattle, and has the most amazing Italian cuisine. Highly recommend the Sweet Potato Gnocchi to start! Then we ordered the duckling and the pork shoulder – both were to DIE for. My dad is a super hard critic to please, and he thought everything was so tasty. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! PS this lavender mocktail was amazing too.
For Sunday morning breakfast, we stopped by Mr. West. A few of you had suggested it to me, so I had to check it out. If you’re looking for a nice, light breakfast that doesn’t leave you in a food coma, this is a good place to go. Super cute, and yummy food!
I didn’t realize until I was writing this post that we didn’t take any cute photos at this location! We drove about 30 minutes out of downtown to Snoqualmie Falls, to see the waterfall. If you’re not super into hiking but still want to see the gorgeous nature, this is the place for you. You can park directly by the waterfall, and walk over on the path to see the falls. There’s also a little lodge right on top of the falls where you can stop for lunch and see the view. So gorgeous!
Obviously had to stop to grab some XLB at Din Tai Fung! Not much to say here, since we actually have one here in Los Angeles. I was expecting it to taste a little different, but it’s pretty much the same at every location! Always delicious, though.
During our trip to Seattle I also had my very first oyster experience. I know everyone and their mom LOVES oysters, but I honestly couldn’t get over the texture! Safe to say I’m not a fan. However, the clam chowder at this place was delicious!
On Saturday, we spent the whole day driving out to Rattlesnake Lake for a little outdoors-y adventure. BEWARE if you’re planning to visit the lake: make sure you have the right route! The route Google Maps took us had us hitting a dead end, and we had to drive about an extra hour on dirt road with endless potholes. Yeah, not fun. The lake is absolutely stunning though. The water is so clear, and was such a pretty sight to see.
I also want to say a HUGE thank you to Mazda for hooking us up with this gorgeous Mazda CX-9 for our trip! It was such a dream to drive, and was so helpful when we took a whole day to go see the nature sights. We packed up our car full of extra clothes, blankets, snacks, umbrellas, you name it, and there was still so much room. This car also drives extra smooth, and is so driver-friendly! I love the CarPlay on the car, and how your speed is shown in a projected hologram. So cool y’all, we’re living in the future!
The interior was also just as pretty as the exterior! You can tell it was designed with every possible detail in mind. Highly recommend if you need a reliable car with a little more space!
On our little day of adventure, we also drove over to Twin Falls. To get to the falls, you have to hike for about an hour, and it gets pretty tiring, but it was so pretty to see. Also it feels insanely fulfilling when you finish the whole hike! We didn’t really get to take a great photo, but here’s one of my dad and me at the waterfall. 🙂
If you’re still here, thanks for sticking around! Happy adventuring friends 🙂
I went hiking with friends a couple years ago to Rattlesnake ledge and google maps sent us in the wrong direction, too!! Apparently it’s common because we started seeing signs saying things like “No rattlesnake ledge here. wrong way.” LOL

We saw the same sign!!! So frustrating, I wonder if there’s a way to report it on Google Maps! Glad we weren’t the only ones, haha.
WOW! It look so fun!!! Really making me want to go Seattle again.
