As I’m writing this, I’m beginning to realize that summer’s almost over, and we’re about to go into fall… but oh well 🤷🏻♀️For months now, I’ve seen the Summersalt ads all over my feed. It wasn’t until I was planning for this trip to 30A that I thought about purchasing one, but of course, in my procrastinator fashion, I decided to wait until the last possible minute before packing. That led me to realize that I didn’t have a good swimsuit. Thank God Summersalt had express shipping!
After I shared on IG stories that I was placing an order, I got a ton of requests from you guys asking for a review on them. I guess y’all have been seeing the ads too! Anyway, now that I’ve gotten to wear them multiple times and test them out, I thought it’d be a good time to share my thoughts.
Since I wasn’t sure about sizing, I ordered a couple extra suits just to see what would fit, and what would look best. This made me realize, though, how tricky it is to purchase swimwear online. If you can avoid it, I’d recommend trying stuff on in person instead. However, I know we’re in the age of totally online brands, so it’s a little bit inevitable. At least they have free shipping and returns!
Of the 4 suits I ordered, the only one I ended up wearing consistently was this one-piece (pictured above!) The two piece sets I ordered honestly were pretty thin, and I didn’t feel comfortable wearing them out to do water sports (jet skis, paddleboarding, etc.) on a public beach with strong waves… if you know what I’m saying. For a $100 full set, I honestly expected them to be a little thicker and feel more well made.
However, the Fused Oasis suit that I’m wearing in these photos will most definitely be staying with me for the next couple summers. I’m so impressed with how light the fabric feels on, and how comfortable it is. Usually with cute suits, I never want to take them out and be ‘rough’ with them, because I’m worried they’ll scratch or pill. After an entire week on the beach and pool, there are zero pilling spots on the suit, and it feels just the same as the first time I wore it. I also love the look of the suit! The belt accent on it has such a slimming effect, and I can’t get enough. It also works really well under a pair of denim shorts. For this suit specifically I give it a solid 9!
Have y’all ever tried Summersalt? If you have, I want to hear what you thought! Which of their designs are your favorites?
