Travel Makeup Bag Essentials

Travel Makeup Bag Essentials

Is anyone else nosy like me and love seeing what’s inside everyone else’s bags? No? Just me? Cool! Haha, as I was at work this morning, I started thinking about how it would be fun to share with y’all what’s in my travel makeup bag. The past year I’ve been on so many flights, I’ve gotten pretty good and knowing what to bring and what not to bring. These are only the absolute essentials- I’ve narrowed it down to only the necessities! I have a good mix of different items in here, so I’ll be prepared for whatever comes my way. If I’m just heading home, I have everything I need to make sure my skin is hydrated and ready for a long flight. If I have to head to a meeting after my flight, I have some things to touch up and make me feel like my best self. Without further ado, here are all my travel bag essentials!

Clear Pouch

First things first: my favorite little clear pouch! I take this little guy with me everywhere. It’s so easy to see where everything is, and is compact enough to fit in almost all of my bags. The only ones it really doesn’t fit in are my crossbody bags. To be completely honest, it is a bit expensive for a little clear pouch, but it has lasted me quite a while. This one’s from Madewell, but I’m linking a few below that are cute options for cheaper.

Dose of Colors Lip Gloss

My current favorite lip gloss formula! Hydrating, and not too sticky. The perfect balance! This shade is so fun too, it’s my perfect “MLBB” shade.

Glossier Balm Dot Com

The ultimate savior for any dry skin problems! You can use it literally anywhere- it’s a great skin salve. My elbows tend to get pretty dry, so I love using this when they do get dry.

Urban Decay All Nighter Mini Spray

This size is the perfect little travel size! The perfect setting spray after I do my makeup on the plane or in the car. Super refreshing too, so it acts as the perfect little wake-me-up.

Chanel CC Cream

I picked this CC cream up a few weeks ago, and I’m officially obsessed. At first, it did smell a bit strong, but it’s really grown on me. I love the amount of coverage it gives without making me look like a cake face.

Chanel Le Rouge Duo

I guess I’m on a real Chanel kick lately! I actually found this lip product through Lonestar Southern – she raved about it a few months ago, and I finally gave in. You put on the lip color, then top with a gloss. I love how the gloss doesn’t make it look too shiny, but gives you a little oomph. It’s super comfortable on the lips, and stays on for a long time. Love love!

Makeup Wipes

Such a necessity for everywhere I go. I know I can’t be the only one, but I absolutely hate the feeling of wearing makeup when I don’t absolutely need to be. For example, on flights! Sometimes, when I’m wearing eye makeup too, my eyes can get itchy and irritated. Makeup wipes are always necessary to wipe off makeup, or even just act as a quick clean wipe for your hands and face to remove dirt. I don’t have a favorite brand right now- I typically just use what I grab at the store. Do y’all have any favorite makeup wipe brands? Always looking for recommendations!

Jet Lag Mask

The name says it all- this is the perfect mask to put on during your flight! My skin drinks it in so well, and I just take a wet washcloth to remove after my flight. It’s also super soothing, so I always look forward to using it on the plane. I also use this as an overnight mask too! It stops being too liquid-y once you leave it on for a little while, so it’s the perfect texture to wear to bed.
