Hi friends, it’s been a WHILE! Finally got around to carving out some time to write a blog post in what feels like forever, but I’m so pumped for it. Honestly the past year has been just a whirlwind, but now I have a huge backlog of posts to get up, so at least that’s the plus side. Anyway – earlier this year, Akash & I took a trip to Vegas, and then a couple months later I went on a trip to Vegas for work. Since y’all always ask for city guides, I thought it’d be fun to share a few of these unshared photos and some of my favorite spots that y’all have to hit up.
Where to Get the Gram
Bellagio Fountains
The iconic Bellagio fountains are a must! At the top of every hour they do a gorgeous show, and it’s always worth stopping by. Plus afterwards, you can swing into Caesar’s or the Bellagio for some designer shopping. Love!
Fashion Show Mall Steps
I got so many questions about these photos when I posted them during our trip! There’s a set of colorful rainbow stairs at the Fashion Show Mall. Great for a quick pic!
The Venetian on the Strip
I saw on Instagram Caila Quinn posted some gorgeous shots in front of the Venetian. It really looks like you’ve transported to Europe! We tried to take some photos last time I was there, but unfortunately there were way too many tourists. Next time for sure!
Seven Magic Mountains
A fun little stop only about 25 minutes from the Strip. You’ve definitely seen them on Instagram! We got up pretty early to get there when there were no people, but it was worth it. When we got there at 7am, there was only one other photographer there at the same time.
The Las Vegas Sign
A must if you’ve never been to Vegas before! The sign is so iconic, and pretty easy to access. It’s right by the airport! Go early to avoid people.
Where to See Nature
Valley of Fire State Park
This is where we went! It’s a relatively short drive from Vegas, and we were able to do a day trip and make it back to Vegas before nighttime. Since we went in the early spring, the weather was actually pretty nice and we had a great time. There’s a hike that’s about an hour long, and you get to see some really cool rock formations. The entire park is really nice, and you can easily explore it by car. If we had more time to explore, I’d definitely go back!
The Grand Canyon
This one’s an obvious one. A lot of people do helicopter trips to the Grand Canyon, which seems like it’d be super fun. I haven’t been in quite a few years, but if you’ve never seen it you should definitely go!
Favorite Spots for Food
Best Friend
The first time I ever visited, I really wanted to go here, but there was such a long line! Since then, I’ve learned to make reservations. The food is pretty darn good, especially if you like Asian fusion. I stopped by with a few friends, and we had the best time. Definitely worth trying!
Food Court in The Cosmopolitan
Now listen – this isn’t any average food court. This food court had so many amazing options, we couldn’t decide where to eat. You really can’t go wrong, but Eggslut is always amazing, and there’s a fried chicken place on the lower terrace that’s delicious too.
Tacos el Gordo
Perhaps one of my favorite taco places on Earth. And that says a lot because I’m a Texas gal. If you love authentic Mexican tacos, you neeeed to go here. There’s always a line, but I promise you it is SO worth it. My mouth is watering just writing this up.
Black Tap
If you’ve ever wondered where everyone gets those giant milkshakes with cakes on top, it’s here! Be prepared to feel pretty sick afterwards though – they can tend to be pretty heavy. The burgers are definitely worth it though! So good.
Catch
I feel like Catch tends to be pretty controversial, but if you’ve never been to any of them, it might be worth going to. The food is good, but definitely not mind blowing. I’d actually recommend going to the one in LA (it’s right down the street from me! in West Hollywood) because of the gorgeous entrance. But if you’re in Vegas and looking for a nice spot for dinner, this is a good option.
